One of my favourite plants - there is just something about its fiery red flowers and the neat wee green bushes that carry them that just look so right . It's not difficult to grow, given a sunny position with well-drained soil. The erect flower stems start to appear in early summer and each carries several flowers. It flowers over several weeks in summer especially if spent flower stems are removed. About 20 cm (8") high at most.
According to one American nursery, it attracts hummingbirds - it will need to be a strong attraction for us in the UK!
