Erect spikes of violet-blue flowers in early summer on neat mats of deep green. A very lovely plant that isn't at all difficult but looks best when grown slightly starved in a poorer, well-drained soil where it stays short and neat - and then about 12cm (5") tall.
Also seen listed as Veronica selleri, then V. stelleri and now Veronica wormskjoldii but this seems a very dubious name for the plant described here - V. wormskjoldii is a tall herbaceous native from N. America. I seem to recall that our plant was from Japan? Anyway, whatever the correct name, if you order you will get the attractive plant described and pictured above and we shall leave the botanists to argue.
