Iris humilis

A nice dwarf Iris from Russia forming neat clumps with typical strappy leaves, only 12cm (5") high. Each individual tuft in the clump produces a solitary flower in spring, large and golden-yellow. Uncommon and seldom offered.

This plant is said to enjoy dry conditions but we find it grows just fine beside everything else we grow and it gets watered regularly in summer. Small enough for a trough.
