Fame
- Large, red and green bi-colour
Makes large, wide rosettes with dark red leaf bases and green tips, at times a red tip develops on the leaves creating a distinctive green bar below the tip.
An older variety from about 60 years ago that still continues to be grown, as do many of Nicholas Moore's introductions from around that time. You have to admire plants that stick around - and there are reasons for that!
Nicholas Moore (GB) 1962
Sent in 9cm pots as growing, established plants.
Note: Sometimes, 'Fame' will develop a rosette with a mutation of thickened leaves - some people like (even prize) this, others detest it. You may see it listed as 'Fame Monstrose' or 'Fantasy'.
