Jovibarba 'Yuiry'
- Small green rosettes with red rollers
- £3.40
A pretty little Jovi' with small green rosettes producing many offsets which self-detach and roll away from from the parent - hence they are commonly (esp. in USA) referred to as 'rollers'. These can form a very pretty, natural effect, especially in a stone trough etc. where the rollers will be contained.
'Yuiry' is a nice breeding of Jovibarba globifera and keeps more or less the same colours all year round, although redder with summer sun. Very easy to grow and perfectly hardy, even in high rainfall areas.
Bred by Volkmar Schara (D) 2017
Sent in 9cm pots as growing, established plants.
Note to buyers: since the rollers detach with the slightest of touches, please be especially careful when unpacking - the rollers will be loose! Placed around the parent after planting, they will self-root. They are very easy.
Note on naming: some authorities insist Jovibarba is now Sempervivum, so this should possibly be Sempervivum globiferum 'Yuiry'. Some people retain the Jovibarba naming, as we do - we're not botanists, it's just easier to use the older name.
