Delivery charges
We use Royal Mail to deliver throughout the UK - this costs £7.59 for most orders using a Next Day service. We may use a 48 hour service for economy on larger orders. Delivery costs are ever increasing, especially now, and plants can be heavy. We absorb some of delivery costa to make the ordering process easier. Very large orders (over 72 plants) may entail an extra charge so we may email you if necessary.
Island destinations. Royal Mail will deliver to all UK addresses but we don't send plants to the Channel Islands.
Northern Ireland. We no longer send plants to N.I. following the Brexit deal. Complaints to your elected representative, please! We had hopes the Windsor Framework would ease things but that appears not to be the case, not for small producers such as us. We monitor the situation regularly.
How can you help us give you the best delivery service?
Tell us your 'Safe Place'. Your delivery person can leave a parcel without signature in your designated 'Safe Place'. Most of our customers are happy for parcels to be left in a front porch, in the greenhouse or with a neighbour, etc. - simply tell us where. We don't ask for any of our parcels to be signed for but every parcel is tracked right to its destination.
Mobile phone and email tracking. If you give us your mobile phone number Royal Mail can send a text message (SMS) on the morning of delivery giving you an estimate of delivery time with tracking details. We (and they) will only use your number for this purpose. Alternatively you might receive an email giving you delivery details - just remember to check your Junk or Spam email folder too.
Ask for delivery elsewhere - you may have plants delivered to, for example, your place of work, a friend or relative or a neighbour. An option to change the delivery address is available as you pass through checkout.
Do you live in a rural area? We do too and are aware of the problems with getting reliable deliveries. The vast majority of our parcels will arrive without problem but delays can happen - in most cases your plants will arrive only one day late but they won't be harmed by such a delay. Royal Mail can find an address where most parcel deliver companies struggle.
We collate all orders for dispatch on Tuesdays to prevent plants sitting boxed-up over the weekends. We will email you once we dispatch your order.
Non-delivery - Where are my plants!
Thankfully, this rarely happens but things can go wrong - weather events, breakdowns, illness, new delivery drivers etc. You should normally expect to receive your order on a Wednesday / Thursday as advised in our automated dispatch email.
You must tell us if your plants do not arrive as planned, using our Contact Us page or by email. We have the facility to track all the parcels we send but on rare occasions it can fail or be inaccurate. In all but very rare and exceptional circumstances your plants will probably arrive only one day late. Contact us if you wish us to follow-up the tracking of any delayed parcels. Your plants are our responsibility until they are delivered. Sempervivum travel extremely well so a delay shouldn't harm them. We want you to be happy when you open your box of plants!
