Atropurpureum
- Dark rosettes in spring.
- £3.20
Very elegant rosettes of broad leaves which are dark, plum-purple in spring with a greyish bloom and slightly darker leaf tips. It looks good in all seasons as the colours change.
'Atropurpurpureum' has a curious feature - some rosettes develop a brighter stripe along some of the leaves. You can see this in the photo' above, lower left, at about the 7 o'clock position. I don't know what (if anything) causes it and it only appears on this variety. Even then, only some rosettes are affected. It's a very nice Houseleek. We like it and have grown it for many years.
Sent in 9cm pots as growing, established plants.
